The 30-day cookie window is the industry standard for SaaS affiliate programs. Here’s how it works in practice:
Key Rules
- The 30-day window starts when the user clicks your referral link
- If the user subscribes within 30 days, the sale is attributed to you
- Once attributed, all future payments from that customer generate commissions — including plan upgrades and renewals
- If the cookie expires before the user subscribes, no commission is earned
- If the user clicks another affiliate’s link, the last click wins
